Oxfam@VT and the Pakistani Student Alliance (PAKSA@VT) present A Message from Malala: a forum on women, education and opportunity in the developing world. Malala Yousafzai is a Pakistani schoolgirl who was persecuted by the Taliban in 2009 for promoting education for girls. This is an open forum that uses the Malala incident as a starting point to discuss important challenges for developing countries, and how we can help overcome them. The discussion will be led by Dr. Samanta and facilitated by members of both clubs. Join us to discuss women, education, opportunity, and other challenges in the developing world. What will we do as college students to be more aware and create a better, more just future for girls like Malala?
