Supporting Students with Special Needs in Your Online Course: A Roundtable Discussion
(Academic)
A conversation with the eLearning faculty community about how to help students with special needs in an active online class led to a collaborative solution that spanned multiple disciplines and departments at Virginia Tech.
From the group response it became clear that a conversation about how to accommodate students with special needs would benefit all of us who teach (or plan to teach) online classes with timed tests.
Join us as we continue that conversation and learn how to form a standard plan for meeting the needs of students with disabilities in brown bag lunch session entitled, "Supporting Students with Special Needs in Your Online Course: A Roundtable Discussion."
Susan Angle and Robyn Hudson, representing the Services for Students with Disabilities office, and Jenn Sliko, instructor in the Department of Geosciences, will facilitate the discussion.
