Poetry in Medicine: A Contest Celebration and Reading
(VTC)
The inaugural Poetry in Medicine writing competition, held in February, will conclude with a contest celebration and reading featuring Jack Coulehan, MD, poet and contest judge, and winning student poets. A reception will follow.
The competition was open to Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine students, Virginia Tech master of fine arts students, and Virginia Tech undergraduates. Winning poems were selected on the basis of craftsmanship, originality, and content.
The Poetry in Medicine awards are sponsored by the Roanoke Times and World News and the Tuberculosis Foundation of Virginia, in collaboration with the Community High School of Arts and Academics, Virginia Tech, and the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. More information...
