Our community is invited to tour the Smart Road!

Experience weather on demand and learn about transportation research during the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute Open House.

Individuals and small groups up to 10 may come anytime from 4 to 7 p.m. and take a 30 to 60 minute tour of the institute's research facilities. The tour will include brief presentations by researchers, a look at Virginia Smart Road Control Room and the institute's instrumented vehicles. Visitors will also experience the all-weather testing capabilities with a ride through a simulated rain event on the Smart Road in Blacksburg Transit buses.
