A seminar in the Research Institute Seminar Series
Chaperonins -- proteins that foster the correct folding of other proteins in the cell -- require hydrolysis of the coenzyme ATP, or adenosine triphosphate. Dr. Chiu will discuss how cryo-electron microscopy analysis reveals the structural alterations of chaperonin while it undergoes its biochemical reactions.
