Dr. Jay Potts conducts research on congenital cardiac defects that involve the atrioventricular canal,
which is responsible for the production of the atrioventricular valves and the membranous portion of the
interventricular septum. He also has an extensive research program on wound healing, particularly as it relates
to the eye. Dr. Potts earned his doctorate in anatomy and cell biology at the University of Iowa.
