This Black History Month Program features Virginia Tech alumnus Phil Haynie III, a fifth generation black farmer who was recently recognized by the White House as a Champion of Change. Mr. Haynie will discuss how the agricultural community will feed 9 billion people in 2050. Mr. Haynie will also discuss his experiences as a black farmer, precision agriculture, the need for scientists and engineers in agriculture, and how to use a Virginia Tech education to serve the world.
