Workshop Description: How do you utilize your TAs? Many faculty turn them loose with about as much instruction as we received when we were graduate students: "You should run section." In this workshop, you'll learn a different approach: "We are a team, each with different responsibilities, all directed toward student learning." What responsibilities can you give your TAs? What supports do you need to provide so they can fulfill those responsibilities? Sections or recitations can become "labs" where students get hands-on experience working with concepts introduced in lecture. The goal of the workshop is that each participant leave with new ideas for implementing a team approach with your TAs.
