ICAT Community Playdate: ESCHER Project
(Research)
Each Friday, the Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology convenes for a weekly playdate. During this hour, an ICAT sponsored project is presented. Join faculty, staff, and students from around campus to learn about ICAT research and events.
Faculty and students from the School of Visual Arts and the Mechanical Engineering Department are working together on the design and fabrication of a prototype set of three-dimensionally contoured and graphically relevant protective body panels for the ESCHER (Electromechanical Series Compliant Humanoid for Emergency Response) robot, which was designed and built in the Terrestrial Robotics Engineering and Controls Lab. The exterior panels provide environmental protection, impact resistance to vulnerable elements, and increased visibility.
