Alyssa Holland Short: Your Inner Mermaid
Artist and creative instructor
Miles C. Horton Gallery
Community art-making event, open to all ages and abilities

Celebrate your inner mermaid at this fun, family-friendly art event led by artist Alyssa Holland Short. Design your own mini mermaid tail and take it home as a reminder to honor your creative spirit. The art activity is based on an illustrated story that Short wrote for The Mama Movement blog called A Landlocked Mermaid's Tail, from which Short will be reading excerpts during the event. This event is free, open to the public, and appropriate for all ages and abilities.

Moss Arts Center presents Women's Work: Our Stories, a series of informal talks, workshops, and performances throughout October and November

In response to current exhibitions on view featuring women artists exploring female identity, personae, and experience, the Moss Arts Center presents a series of informal talks, performances, and workshops that share and explore conceptions of the many roles of women and their bodies in personal and professional life.

These informal, public, and free events will take place throughout October and November in the Moss Arts Center galleries. Follow us on Facebook to view each event. Email questions to megh79@vt.edu.
