Center for Communicating Science reception and Nutshell Games
(Special Event)
Virginia Tech's new Center for Communicating Science celebrates its opening with a new activity and public reception. The Nutshell Games are a friendly competition among graduate students who must present their research in 90 seconds. Virginia Tech President Tim Sands, Graduate School Dean Karen DePauw, Institute for Society, Culture and Environment Director Karen Roberto, and NPR Science Correspondent Joe Palca will judge the games (4-5:30). The reception, with speakers, refreshments, and recognition of the Nutshell Games winners, happens immediately afterward.
