Art Exhibit: Electromagnetograms by Liz Liguori and Jessie Mann, Perspective Gallery Student Biennial Exhibit
(Arts)
Jessie Mann and Liz Liguori are Virginia Tech graduate students selected to exhibit their work in this biennial art show. Their curiosity-driven, unique photography highlights the excellent work of Virginia Tech students who combine creativity with technology and science in their art. Jessie Mann, an accomplished artist who has exhibited her paintings and collaborations extensively, is working on her Ph.D. in the Virginia Tech Translational Biology, Medicine, and Health Program. She is working on research in cognitive neuroscience. Liz Liguori, has won numerous awards while attending graduate school, including the 2016 School of Visual Arts Outstanding Graduate Student Award. She will be completing her M.F.A. in Creative Technology this May. "Electromagnetograms" is a collaborative project undertaken by the artists, which uses laser light to explore photography's latent abstract painterly tendencies and conversely, painting's light capturing action. The exhibit is part of the Virginia Tech Women's Month Celebrations.
