This workshop provides participants with an opportunity to learn more about the history of women at Virginia Tech, current statistics, and data relating to women's experiences in higher education, and action items to create a more inclusive work environment within the institution. Personal reflection, group activities, and interactive multimedia will help participants understand the current state of gender in higher education. While many may not see sexism in the workplace regularly, it is constant- ranging in situations from student evaluations to institutional policy. The conversation about gender is still relevant and this workshop will help participants understand the current scope of the issue.
