  Drawing and Its Peripheries  
(Arts)

Drawing & Its Peripheries includes work made by students at Georgia University, in Augusta GA, and students in the School of Visual Arts at Virginia Tech. The show is an exploration of the notion of "contemporary drawing." It spotlights thirty-three works by thirty-five artists includes finely crafted drawings in the historical tradition as well as pieces that challenge, expand, or defy assumptions of what drawing can be. The show opens October 26th, 5-7 PM after a talk by visiting artist Kristin Casaletto of Georgia University in Augusta, Georgia. Kristin organized the show with Amelia Salisbury who teaches drawing and other art classes at SOVA. The show will remain at the Armory Gallery through Nov. 17th.
