Workshop on MRT Particle Transport Methodology and RAPID

The goal of this workshop is to introduce participants to the Multi-stage, Response-function Transport (MRT) methodology and the RAPID formulation and code system. RAPID is used for accurate and real-time simulation of real-world critical and subcritical systems including spent fuel pools/casks and reactor cores. In addition to pin-wise, axially-dependent fission density, eigenvalue and subcritical multiplication, RAPID can determine detector response or dose for monitoring of aforementioned systems. Through hands-on exercises, participants will be introduced to the use of the RAPID code system and its Virtual Reality System (VRS) environment for computation, input/output generation and interactive 3-D visualization
