White Rose Exhibit Guest Lecture: "Speaking Truth to Power: The White Rose Then and Now"
(Academic)

The White Rose exhibit opens with a lecture by Dr. Manuela Achilles, Director of the Center for German Studies and Assistant Professor of German at the University of Virginia, titled "Speak Truth to Power: The White Rose Then and Now." Achilles will describe the path of the White Rose toward official acknowledgment - it was only in 1985 that the German parliament finally acknowledged the criminal qualities of Hitler's People's Court that pronounced the sentences against the resistance group's members. A reception with light refreshments will follow the lecture.
