Mary Cassatt: Challenging Representations of Women, Maternity, and Modernity

Join Dr. Sharon Johnson of Women's and Gender Studies and Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures to learn about her scholarship on Mary Cassatt. Johnson's talk contextualizes Cassatt within the context of 19th century French society and the painterly conversations of that time. The audience will learn about her work and how it challenged traditional norms and gendered expectations of the time.
