Campus-Community Emergency Response Team Training
(Service)
The Campus-Community Emergency Response Team (C-CERT) training course is designed to provide volunteers with a broad overview of disaster preparedness and response skills in a team-based environment.
The course is divided into 14 modules over 10 course days. Each lesson provides a glimpse into a different area of emergency management and response. Topics include:
- Disaster preparedness and C-CERT organization
- Hazard Identification
- Fire safety
- Urban and wilderness search and rescue
- Terrorism awareness
- Portable radio use
- Disaster psychology
- CPR and First Aid certification
- ICS 100 certification
The 10-session class (30 training hours) is open to students, staff and faculty and begins Oct. 2. Sessions are held from 6-9 p.m. every Tuesday and some Thursdays from Oct. 2 to Nov. 8.
