Spotted Lanternfly Educational Meeting for Christmas Tree Growers and Nursery Professionals

Attn: Christmas Tree Growers, Garden Center Retailers, Nursery Growers, Arborists, and all Green Industry Professionals:
As you likely know, Spotted Lanternfly is a new invasive insect pest that we are dealing with in Virginia. This pest has received a lot of recent media attention, especially concerning the Christmas tree industry. Join us for an educational session to better understand this pest and to prepare yourself with fact based info to respond to concerned clientele and the general public. We will be meeting on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 11:00am to 2:00pm at the Virginia Tech Alson H. Smith, Jr., Agricultural Research and Extension Center: 595 Laurel Grove Road, Winchester, VA 22602. Extension Specialists Eric Day, Doug Pfeiffer, and Kyle Peer will be presenting as well as Tina MacIntyre with Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS).
Mixed box sandwich and salad lunches will be provided. Please RSVP 48-hours in advance to mark.sutphin@vt.edu (540.665.5699) to ensure we have adequate meals. Please also let me know if you have any dietary restrictions.
