Wednesday Walk and Talk: Hemlock and the Woolly Adelgid
Join us on December 5th at noon for our Wednesday 'Walk and Talk' series. This event is free and open to the public.
Tom McAvoy, a Research Entomologist at Virginia Tech, will talk about hemlock species and distribution, hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA) distribution and introduction in US, control methods, and different types of chemical and biological controls. Then we will walk over to the Washington St. Greenhouse for a brief tour of the Insectary with Carrie Jubb, the Insect Mass Rearing Supervisor.
All 'Walk and Talks' meet at the Peggy Lee Hahn Pavilion at noon on selected Wednesdays. Parking is limited so come early to find a place to park. We will be handing out Visitor parking passes in the pavilion parking lot.
