Info Session: NSF UrbComp Program

By the year 2030, 6/10 people in the world are projected to live in a city. UrbComp is an NSF funded National Research Traineeship at Virginia Tech that trains graduate students to apply data science and computational modeling methods to solve problems faced by urban populations.

Open to: VT students in Blacksburg or NCR pursuing either MS or PhD (if pursuing NSF NRT funding, must be from PhD in a CEE, CS, ECE, MATH, PHS, SOC,STAT, or UAP department)
Program features: specialized 12-credit certificate that accompanies an MS or PhD you complete in your field through other coursework.
