Currently working at Middleburg College, Chavez Castaneda represents on of the founding writers of Mexico's Generacion del Crack, arguably they country's most significant literary movement in the last twenty years. His talk - conducted in Spanish_ will explore the theme of violence in contemporary Mexican literature, as well as commentary on his most recent novel, La nina del Derosipam (2017).
