Capernaum (Arabic film with English subtitles)
The film Capernaum portrays Zain, a 12 year Lebanese boy who sues his parents for giving him life. After running away from his neglectful parents, Zain turns to the streets where he looks after an Ethiopian refugee and her infant son. Recognized by individuals such as Oprah, this film won awards such as the Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for an Oscar.
This screening is supported by the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, the Dept of Modern and Classical Lang & Lit, the Arabic Lang Club, Moss Arts Center, and The Lyric.
