Arlington Imaging Artificial Intelligence (AI-AI) Workshop
(Greater Washington DC Metro Area)
Radiological imaging has become ubiquitous in healthcare for diagnosis, therapeutic interventions, research and education. The radiology community has made much progress in applying artificial intelligence (AI) in diagnostic imaging over the past 30 years. However, AI has yet to make significant improvements in diagnosis and patient outcomes, and the full potential of AI in imaging and informatics is yet to be realized.
Objectives:
(1) How can current AI technology, particularly convolutional neural networks (CNN), be enhanced? Are there any gaps or roadblocks?
(2) What additional computational tools beyond AI do we need to complement current AI tools?
(3) What and how should the curated data sets be developed to optimize specific tasks of today and tomorrow?
(4) What are the models for scaling up and sustainment? How can we insure that AI has a long-term, beneficial impact on clinical practice?
