Virtual Art Exhibit/ Lauren Cooper Medicine Show
(Arts)

This exhibit was installed just as the COVID-19 pandemic starting shutting down the world. Putting it online is one way the team at Student Engagement and Campus Life could assure it was seen while the gallery is closed. We hope you enjoy it.

Lauren Cooper received her BFA from SUNY Purchase in 1983 with a major in painting and a minor in drawing. After graduation her life took a turn towards the practical and she earned a living working jobs as a cook, bread baker, groom on an Arabian horse farm and an organic gardener. Her visual art has been influenced by these formative experience and her art is created with an animistic point of view.

View this online version of the thought-provoking and highly detailed artwork created by Lauren who, in addition to homeschooling and farming is a registered professional herbalist with the American Herbalist's Guild. Greenstar Farm and Apothecary, Lauren's family farm, is a well-known organic farm at the Blacksburg Farmers Market.

Lauren states, " My work as an artist and as an herbalist remain intimately connected, with healing being the goal."
