In his NC State course, Science, Psi, Sasquatch, and Spirits, Darby Orcutt examines science through the lens of fields usually considered fringe science at best, using them to understand how the boundaries, cultures, and practices of science are constructed. In this talk, he draws from his experiences with the Bigfoot community and his fieldwork with amateur Bigfoot investigators, turning towards popular apprehensions of science and Bigfoot, and finding that ways of believing in these two things are not so different as one might presume.
