  National Security Executive Leadership Program
(Greater Washington DC Metro Area)

In an ever-changing geopolitical landscape with new threats emerging, leaders of the future must be dynamic, possessing expertise that spans policy, law, and science. Virginia Tech School of Public and International Affairs' National Security Executive Leadership Program sets the bar for national security professional development, empowering professionals from all backgrounds through interdisciplinary training designed to bridge the policy and technical gap and prepare them for critical leadership positions.

This intensive, one-week, professional development program is designed for mid-level national security professionals. Participants will gain a firm foundational knowledge of the U.S. national security apparatus, instruments of national power, the appropriations process, gaming, and critical decision-making, as well as background in technical and regional policy issues. The program curriculum is centered around cybersecurity in critical infrastructure protection and will comprise participatory learning online and via simulation.

The March 2021 program is being offered online. Future programs will be offered in the Washington D.C. area at the state-of-the-art Virginia Tech Research Center in Arlington, VA, just two blocks from the Ballston metro.
