Dr. Clara Suong: Information in International Politics
(Research)
Join Center for Humanities Director Sylvester Johnson and Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science Clara Suong for a discussion centering around information in international politics. In this talk, Dr. Suong will discuss her current research, which lies at the intersection of the politics of information and International Relations and employs computational, formal, and experimental methods, including Natural Language Processing and game theory. In particular, she will talk about how information and communicative acts affect politics at the domestic-international nexus.
In addition to her role as Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science, Clara Suong is the Deputy Director of the Tech4Humanity Lab for Computational Social Science Initiatives at Virginia Tech.
This talk is free and open to the public and we invite anyone to attend. There will be a brief question and answer session with viewers following the presentation.
