Panel Discussion: "Art and Culture in Germany and the United States"

This is the fourth event in the inaugural speaker series organized by the Collaboratory for German Studies in Virginia (CGSV); the series, "The New Normal: The U.S. and Germany Now," explores how life in the U.S. and Germany and the relationship between the two countries have changed due to recent social and political developments. Guest presenters Janell Moore, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Christian Badel, a visual artist in Berlin, will discuss the state of cultural affairs in Germany and the U.S. A Q&A session follows. The moderator is Oliver Speck, Director of the Media, Art & Text Ph.D. program at Virginia Commonwealth University. The CGSV is a partnership among the German programs of the University of Mary Washington, University of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia Tech, and William & Mary.
