Panel Discussion: "The New Normal of Education in the United States and Germany"
(Academic)
This is the fifth event in the inaugural speaker series organized by the Collaboratory for German Studies in Virginia (CGSV); the series, "The New Normal: The U.S. and Germany Now," explores how life in the U.S. and Germany and the relationship between the two countries have changed due to recent social and political developments. Guest presenters Helmut Kehlenbeck, German Central Agency for Schools Abroad, and Doug Tibbett, Chesterfield County Public Schools, will discuss to what extent the German and American approaches to teaching in times of Corona - online, hybrid, in-person - create a new pedagogical normality. A Q&A session follows. The moderator is Jennifer Hansen-Glucklich, Assistant Professor of German, University of Mary Washington. The CGSV is a partnership among the German programs of the University of Mary Washington, University of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia Tech, and William & Mary.
