(Academic)

This is the sixth and final event in the inaugural speaker series organized by the Collaboratory for German Studies in Virginia (CGSV); the series explores how life in the U.S. and Germany and the relationship between the two countries have changed due to recent social and political developments. Guest presenters Dietmar Rieg, President and CEO of the German-American Chamber of Commerce, New York City, and Don Lee, Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Mary Washington, will discuss how events in recent years have influenced trade between Germany and the U.S. and if there will be changes. The moderator is Debra Stoudt, Professor of German and Associate Dean in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences at Virginia Tech. A Q&A session follows. The CGSV is a partnership among the German programs of the University of Mary Washington, University of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia Tech, and William & Mary.
