Mu of Virginia Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa Spring 2021 Initiation Ceremony
(Special Event)
The Mu of Virginia Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa will hold its Spring 2021 Initiation Ceremony. This virtual event will take place on Saturday, May 15, at 3:30 p.m. It will be aired on the chapter's page at the website of Virginia Tech's Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, https://www.provost.vt.edu/phi_beta_kappa.html.
Founded in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa is the nation's original honor society. Only 10% of US colleges and universities have Phi Beta Kappa chapters; of these, fewer than 10% of arts and sciences juniors and seniors are invited for membership. Phi Beta Kappa members include 17 U.S. presidents, 42 Supreme Court justices, and more than 150 Nobel Laureates. Induction into Phi Beta Kappa is truly a remarkable achievement.
For those unable to attend on May 15, the ceremony will remain archived on our chapter's webpage. This event will be pre-recorded and captioned; if you are an individual with a disability and desire an accommodation, please email Shelia Collins at shcolli4@vt.edu or call 540-231-4167 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at least five days prior to the event.
