VT Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band
(Music/Theatre/Dance)

The Virginia Tech Wind Ensemble welcomes Assistant Professor of Percussion Annie Stevens, percussion, and Assistant Professor of Clarinet Yevgeny Dokshansky, clarinet, to the stage performing Michael Burritt's jazz-inspired "Duo Concertante." Gala Flagello's new work for concert band, "Visible Nature," highlights different sections of the ensemble as the voices of nature and humankind, tracing a cycle of building and crumbling, reflection and transformation. Steven Bryant's massive piece "The Automatic Earth" assaults the senses with sight and sound in his musical portrayal of the ongoing climate catastrophe.

The Symphony Band will also perform on the concert.
