Mosaic for Earth: A Reading by Erik Reece
(Special Event)
A powerful voice for the Appalachian Mountains, Erik Reece's Lost Mountain documents the dismantling of Lost Mountain through the mining practice known as mountaintop removal. Additional non-fiction works include Utopia Drive, An American Gospel, The Embattled Wilderness, and Practice Resurrection and Other Essays. Reece is a powerful voice for the land, particularly the Appalachian region, and emphasizes how environmental issues are also social justice issues.
This event is sponsored by the Department of English in conjunction with the School of Performing Arts concert Mosaic for Earth, which incorporates Reece's text into the libretto.
