  Black Disabled Music: From Slave Ships to Krip Hop and Beyond  
(Arts)

Musician, poet, writer, activist, and PhD student (anthropology, UCLA) Leroy F. Moore, Jr., Co-Founder of Krip Hop Nation and member of the Hip Hop Studies Working Group at UCLA. shares the story of Black Disabled music in the United States from slave ships to freak shows, Blues to Hip-Hop. He will then discuss Krip Hop Nation, their accomplishments, and the future of the work - including his musical call to action, "Dear Hip-Hop (Audio Letter)."

This lecture is supported by a College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences Diversity Mini-Grant.
