  A Pickle Problem: The Deli Revival and American Jewish Religion  
(Academic)

The Malcolm and Diane Rosenberg Program in Judaic Studies, the Department of Religion & Culture, and the Virginia Tech Food Studies program is please to welcome Prof. Rachel B. Gross (San Francisco State University) to campus to talk about the amazing, complicated history of Jewish food in America. Building from her 2021 book "Beyond the Synagogue: Jewish Nostalgia as Religious Practice," Prof. Gross will talk about the particular place of Jewish Delis and their relationship with American Jewish Religion. The event is free and open to the public. All are welcome. Masking is requested.
